I was watching a PBS documentary before work about the Civil War and was astounded, and I dont use that word often!, to hear the narrator do an almost perfect side by side...they compared letters home from both soldiers of the Union and those of the Confederacy...pointing out how the soldiers expressed their belief they were fighting for God, their Nation, and a noble cause. That would be a self apparent thing anyone would guess..but in the letters was expressed the willingness to make the "ultimate sacrifice", that overworked term of late!, for God, Country and the nobleness of their respective causes. Oh, I'm not relating this very well...but just in the paper yesterday was a WW2 soldiers letter home that were filled with expressions of his faith....
And of course the thought that comes here is how can both sides be so convinced they are doing God's will, as they indeed were in their minds...the narrator mentions that America at the time was a thoroughly Christian nation...it's a conundrum...paradoxical. And it wasn't lost on the combatants, and to show this they quoted Lincoln...lemesee if I can find it...brb

Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not, that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered. That of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offenses; for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh."

Dont know but Lincoln must have read Ezekiel too...brb...

Perhaps the most fascinating and unique discussion in this book is Dr. Fox's meditations on President Lincoln and the Biblical prophets. Dr. Fox posits that President Lincoln's knowledge of the ethical teachings of the prophets was 'phenomenal.' Putting his rabbinical studies and knowledge to great use, Dr. Fox profiles 'Lincoln's Prophets,' who included Moses, Jesus, Ezekiel, Isaiah and Jeremiah.

hmm...well I got a little lost in that search...Abraham Lincoln Ezekiel...but the PBS show went on to describe how America actually has two religions...one the secular, with the constitution, declaration and other documents it's bible...and then the Bible based religions...that's my languageNation posts!!...it was curious hearing the historians being interviewed trying to articulate it!...lemesee if I can find the name of the show...brb...I think it's called Prayer in America...brb...a link...
There wasn't much on tonight...and I dont know what I'm watching...oh...a quiet zone for radio astronomers!!..
But!...back to the Cayman Islands...brb...well...no new post over in jfk..but mine!..and it's a start in a thread...as in the search last night I thought to look up William Stephenson..the famous British spook...as I knew he retired to a Caribbean Island...Jamaica...and the search brought up the Torbitt Document...a famous CT in the JFK lore...as it happens the Cayman Islands are or were under Jamaican jurisdiction...and in turn the British as it's a colony...still!...but what was curious was an organization Stephenson started up which resemble the World Trade Centers organization...and indeed the Torbitt Document connects the two...
When I have a thread to work on I just go off...flights of fancy...off now to search and work up a jfk post...:)
Well...I finished it off...once a thought runs into a well traveled...or trampled..."geogrpahy"...it's not much use...though it's a curio the angle I came at this..actually it was just a question about scuba in the Caymans!!...but 500 banks...I wonder if everyone has a bomb shelter like the Swiss!!
the post
I remebered that Stephenson, the famous British spook, retired to a Carribean island...it's Jamaica, which has jusidiction, or did. over the Caymans...and in reading his obit found he started up an organization something like the World Trade Centers...so I googled that up...and ran smack into,,,tata..the Torbitt Documnet...which makes this a short thread!!

The North Jamaican Hillowton property was later transformed to Tryall, the exclusive club of John Connally, Paul Raigorodsky and many others of the cabal. World Commerce Corporation received funds from the U.S. International Cooperation Agency and worked closely with Clay Shaw's World Trade Development Commission and Permindex's various World Trade Centers. George DeMohrenschildt, William Dalsell and a number of the White Russians had worked for I.C.A. for a number of years. This increased DeMohrenschildt's knowledge of the subject of who was behind the conspiracy. The following from Volume XXIV, page 642 of the official Commission evidence is especially interesting since Albert Osborne and Gordon Novel had been reported at Tryall, Jamaica on a number of occasions.

The World Commerce Corportation was Stephenson's brainchild, and I imagine it does somehow link to the World Trade Center organizations...which are both still around!
A clay shaw william stephenson search is a bit boggling...a google boggle!
