Side by Side: The Civil War

I was watching a PBS documentary before work about the Civil War and was astounded, and I dont use that word often!, to hear the narrator do an almost perfect side by side...they compared letters home from both soldiers of the Union and those of the Confederacy...pointing out how the soldiers expressed their belief they were fighting for God, their Nation, and a noble cause. That would be a self apparent thing anyone would guess..but in the letters was expressed the willingness to make the "ultimate sacrifice", that overworked term of late!, for God, Country and the nobleness of their respective causes. Oh, I'm not relating this very well...but just in the paper yesterday was a WW2 soldiers letter home that were filled with expressions of his faith....

And of course the thought that comes here is how can both sides be so convinced they are doing God's will, as they indeed were in their minds...the narrator mentions that America at the time was a thoroughly Christian's a conundrum...paradoxical. And it wasn't lost on the combatants, and to show this they quoted Lincoln...lemesee if I can find it...brb

Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not, that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered. That of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offenses; for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh."

Linclon's Second Inaugeral address

Dont know but Lincoln must have read Ezekiel too...brb...

Perhaps the most fascinating and unique discussion in this book is Dr. Fox's meditations on President Lincoln and the Biblical prophets. Dr. Fox posits that President Lincoln's knowledge of the ethical teachings of the prophets was 'phenomenal.' Putting his rabbinical studies and knowledge to great use, Dr. Fox profiles 'Lincoln's Prophets,' who included Moses, Jesus, Ezekiel, Isaiah and Jeremiah.

hmm...well I got a little lost in that search...Abraham Lincoln Ezekiel...but the PBS show went on to describe how America actually has two the secular, with the constitution, declaration and other documents it's bible...and then the Bible based religions...that's my languageNation posts!! was curious hearing the historians being interviewed trying to articulate it!...lemesee if I can find the name of the show...brb...I think it's called Prayer in America...brb...a link...

There wasn't much on tonight...and I dont know what I'm watching...oh...a quiet zone for radio astronomers!!..

But!...back to the Cayman new post over in jfk..but mine!..and it's a start in a in the search last night I thought to look up William Stephenson..the famous British I knew he retired to a Caribbean Island...Jamaica...and the search brought up the Torbitt Document...a famous CT in the JFK it happens the Cayman Islands are or were under Jamaican jurisdiction...and in turn the British as it's a colony...still!...but what was curious was an organization Stephenson started up which resemble the World Trade Centers organization...and indeed the Torbitt Document connects the two...

When I have a thread to work on I just go of now to search and work up a jfk post...:)
Well...I finished it off...once a thought runs into a well traveled...or trampled..."geogrpahy"'s not much use...though it's a curio the angle I came at this..actually it was just a question about scuba in the Caymans!!...but 500 banks...I wonder if everyone has a bomb shelter like the Swiss!!
the post
I remebered that Stephenson, the famous British spook, retired to a Carribean's Jamaica, which has jusidiction, or did. over the Caymans...and in reading his obit found he started up an organization something like the World Trade I googled that up...and ran smack into,,,tata..the Torbitt Documnet...which makes this a short thread!!
The North Jamaican Hillowton property was later transformed to Tryall, the exclusive club of John Connally, Paul Raigorodsky and many others of the cabal. World Commerce Corporation received funds from the U.S. International Cooperation Agency and worked closely with Clay Shaw's World Trade Development Commission and Permindex's various World Trade Centers. George DeMohrenschildt, William Dalsell and a number of the White Russians had worked for I.C.A. for a number of years. This increased DeMohrenschildt's knowledge of the subject of who was behind the conspiracy. The following from Volume XXIV, page 642 of the official Commission evidence is especially interesting since Albert Osborne and Gordon Novel had been reported at Tryall, Jamaica on a number of occasions.
The World Commerce Corportation was Stephenson's brainchild, and I imagine it does somehow link to the World Trade Center organizations...which are both still around!
A clay shaw william stephenson search is a bit boggling...a google boggle!

People Whisperers

Are there such whisperers!??...a dog whisperers show was on before's kinda neat...somethings I wish I'd known before when I had my mine by default...and one I shared with her owner..all females...two Australian Shepards and a small Golden Retriever....I had to sit between them when I fet them in the morning and keep peace!...I think the whole whisperer thing started with a movie called Horse Whisperer...but what I recall is the race horse trainer in Seabiscut...there was a good side by side in that movie!...the scene where the young jockey is fighting a bunch of bullies at the same time Seabiscut is tearing his stall apart...the trainer looks to one, then the other...and puts the two together literally!

Well....let's go see if the jfk post went has the making of a's a colony of Britain...the Cayman Islands...and the question becomes did the British have a supporting role by providing "geography" in the Bay of Pigs?

lemego look for people whisperer!...brb..books on Amazon!

JFK Post

Well, it's sad news from Pakistan...and the similarities to JFK are striking...I had a look at the newsgroup...but just a tentative discussion is there...but I made a post...working with the foreign kids I hear about places like the Cayman Islands...and I shook my head a bit to clear the cobwebs...and realized a place with 500 Banks must have a history that reaches back to JFK...I found an old FRUS that layed out the plans for the Bay of Pigs invasions with a Cayman Islands FRUS 1963 search...just knowing how to put together a search line like that is a kinda signature of a jfk ct!...the invasion ships were going to rendezvous offshore of the islands...and I wonder how far off shore?...and I searched the newsgroup to...and found quite by accident... a piece put up the from CT Jim Marrs...Jim Marrs was quoted I mean...and that was just coincidental...but I mentioned before in a post here the career of Chuck Yeager when he was in Pakistan...and that Pakistan deserved some dwelling on!'s the post to jfk...which may or may not get past the moderators!...

Well. It seems the kinda day for a jfk post!…grasping at a straw here…and it’s a tough search…did the Bay of Pigs invasion ships rendezvous at this site (and I’m curious where it was exactly) off the Cayman Islands as suggested in the planning?

4. Sea Movement
a. The plan requires that shipping be loaded at New Orleans, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Vieques. Commencing at D-15, shipping will load supplies at New Orleans and proceed independently to ports in Guatemala and Nicaragua. At the same time, other ships of the invasion force will be loading personnel and equipment at Vieques. All shipping, upon completion of embarkation, will steam independently to a rendezvous area off the Cayman Islands to arrive on D-1. Each ship will travel on individual orders without knowledge of the orders of other ships in the force. The result will be dependent on the coordination and control exercised in the execution of a detailed, exacting plan. Once in the rendezvous area at the Cayman Islands, certain key personnel will conduct pre-D-Day transfer among shipping. The final movement into the objective area includes the rendezvous with the invasion fleet of one U.S. Navy LSD. Final juncture of shipping is effected at H-5 hours on D-Day off the invasion beaches.

Oh!…and here’s a little snag from searching Cayman Islands hereabouts!

Quote or quote of Jim Marrs on 911

Osama's older brother, Salem, was killed in the strange crash of an ultralight aircraft in 1988. The single-passenger craft suddenly and inexplicably veered into high-voltage electric power lines near San Antonio, Texas. The BCCI bank was closed by federal investigators in 1991 after suffering some $10 billion in losses. BCCI was a Pakistani-run institution with front companies in the Cayman Islands that used secret accounts for global money-laundering and was used by U. S. intelligence to funnel money to bin-Laden and the Mujahideen in Afghanistan fighting against the Soviet-backed government.

Un Quote

That's unedited...though my posts over there are notoriously grammar and spelling challenged!!

I haven't studied this in depth...which is to say what Jim Marrs writes is out ther...this is just one of those coincidental side by sides that are all the time showing the 'three shots'...three shots is one of the curios of the jfk lore.

Anderson is the new Rather...a side by side!!...cnn is just weird....flipped to movie with Antony Hopkins talking to his manniken puppet...which is really weird...Letterman has made a deal with the Ferguson will be back current soon hopefully!!...dont know if Letterman will ever be current again...I can say that...being of the age!

Blake's Tiger

Work is frantic during the Holidays...and I didn't think much on anything...too busy!...but on coming home I read the online news about's just getting worser and worser!

Xfiles is on...earlier NBA game and the after game talkabout...or BarkleyBlab!...seems everyone prefers talkabouts to walkabouts!

The Tiger story I'm following...hints as to how it happened...but the authorities are still trying to piece it together. I feel sad for the Father...who seems a fine fellow.

I like Blake's Tiger poem a lot...brb...I've been meaning to memorize some poems..even mine!..few do nowadays...memorizing poems...I've always had a difficult time most do!....maybe some song lyrics too...
The Tiger
by William Blake
Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright
In the Forests of the Night,
What immortal hand or eye,
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant Deeps or Skies
Burned the fire of thine eyes?
What the hammer, what the art,
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
Did He who made the Little Lamb make Thee?
Tiger, Tiger, Burning Bright,
In the Forests of the Night,
What Immortal hand and eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?
Now that's from my memory...and I've left parts out, and other different spellings....actually...on looking at it...I kinda like it better without the other part about the anvil and the tears...but let me get the whole thing....
Oh...first here is the site I got pic at...
brb with poem...
TIGER, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?
And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain?
In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? What dread grasp
Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears,
And water'd heaven with their tears,
Did He smile His work to see?
Did He who made the lamb make thee?
Tiger, tiger, burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Dare frame thy fearful symmetry?

News on...story of the Tiger...I haven't heard yet how it got out...spent most of my day daydreaming about the Bobcat I saw and took pic and clips of before work on the walkabout!...a little dark humor here I guess!...

Oh...but there was a discussion about replacing the Foot Bridge...this came up as Bobcat was walking about in the area...and I expressed my incredulity at the price to replace it!...costs of things often do that to me!...but it needs to be done soon as folk haven't the patience for the detour and are shortcutting along the road and over WEEEE Bridge...and it is wee with the snow hemming it in!...I just go through the Creek...but what troubles me a lot is that the donations being used are undercut by the high cost of hiring and acquiring workers and materials...which to my thinking should all be donated!!...I could do the whole thing extra set to lift stuff...whatever they do will ruin the look of the old bridge...which is very pretty now in the snow.

gotta rant a bit about something... wouldn't be Tree in the Door otherwise!!

Ferguson rerun is on...I stay up for the monolog....

Donations just seem to get gobbled up by exhorbitant...absorbed by exhorbitant...prices and salaries!

Bullet? Arrow?

Oh, The Searchers is on...John Wayne back to back...earlier I think it was Rio Bravo...

A tiger has gotten out of the cage in the San Francisco Zoo...killed one...mauled another two...and was shot while on top of one victim...somewhat fantastic story!

Now, the other night I went across the road to get a snack from the snack machine...and the cold must be messing with the mechanism as a bag of chips was only half out of it's slot...this is the sort of machine that worm screws the snack outwards and they fall down to the tray at the bottom with the long door...this is the kind of machine that has been known to topple over on those trying to tilt it to make a stuck snack fall!...I looked at the potato chip bag and guessed if I got my snack...chocolate would fall on the chips...and..I'd get two for one! in went the coins...and poked the selection F1..and watched...whirrr whiirrr...the cookies fell on the chips...and both were stuck..."I'm gonna have to try for a higher up snack!" I thought...and went for pop tarts...B1...whirrr I had three stuck snacks just one row from the tray!....oh, I thought..."God didn't make us stupid...just to deal with stupid things!"...and tried the pop tarp B1...again whirrr the cold in the dark shod with my flip flops I'm watching this...all four finally fell into the tray..and with some they all blocked the door!...and with an end to my expletives... I paddled back to my cabin with a four night supply of snacks!!...thinking about it makes me want to paddle out and get some cookies! my luck the Mountain Lion is about...I'm pretty sure that was the snarl I heard that one night...the sighting over at the Wreckage suggest there is one in the neighborhood!...

High Plains Drifter is on now...I dont know if The Searchers is all it's said to be cracked up to be...or if it's just another stupid cowboy flick...stupid in their depiction of the Indians...and the usual assortment of character townsfolk!...Mos is a wonderful character!

Afghans have been compared to Comanches...letmesee if I can find that...brb...

Compared to Apaches too...and the search is messed up because we've nicknamed our helicopters...Apaches and Comanches!...go figure...but it was the Afghans in the mountains...their style of dress...and endurance in harsh conditions...that I was thinking of...and this was written about in the war with the Soviet Union...

Something unexpected in the search is that wikipedia does news...and has the story of Operation Snake Pit...Battle of Musa Qala....I dont follow the battle news...but this one was in early December of this year.

I've been meaning to go to amazon and get a dvd of Bringing Up Baby.

"The love impulse in man," says a psychiatrist in Bringing Up Baby, "frequently reveals itself in terms of conflict."

Evidence of Evolutionary Science in Ezekiel

Chicken Run was Christmas Vacation..."You can't see the line, can you Russ..."....dont know but this might be the best depiction of what life is like for the modern male ever made!...this one and Funny Farm are my favorite Chevy Chase movies!!

But back to Ezekiel...I read half the book..then skimmed the second half...looking for that depiction of a place like the Valley...couldn't find it and finally googled: bible see if anything shows up...not much!...but then the Middle East hasn't much High Country...that's wet.

But there were some passages that caught my attention...Ezekiel wasn't in the Sunday School this is a first reading!...this from Chapter Sixteen..

1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2 'Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,

3 and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem: Thine origin and thy nativity is of the land of the Canaanite; the Amorite was thy father, and thy mother was a Hittite.
4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water for cleansing; thou was not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
5 No eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field in the loathsomeness of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee wallowing in thy blood, I said unto thee: In thy blood, live; yea, I said unto thee: In thy blood, live;
7 I cause thee to increase, even as the growth of the field. And thou didst increase and grow up, and thou camest to excellent beauty: thy breasts were fashioned, and thy hair was grown; yet thou wast naked and bare.

It goes on...and needless to say it reads cruel nowadays for it's imagery...but when I read this passage, which is very striking in it's succinctness...and I'm not sure where Adam and Eve have gotten too!...I thought that it resembles evolution in Nature...and how people have been given a special...what to call it?? the sense that each species is singing, being, it's own song...and we are unique and favored with intelligence and awareness and skills far beyond the other species...and here God is telling Jerusalem that among the Nations He has given them gifts...

And then of course they squander them and become wayward...which is self similar to what people are doing...and have done...

In Ezekiel the task ahead for Jerusalem is to get back into God's good graces...and God's not the least bit shy about trimming away the wayward...lemesse if I can find that...brb...

21 For thus saith the Lord GOD: How much more when I send My four sore judgments against Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beasts, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast.
22 And, behold, though there be left a remnant therein that shall be brought forth, both sons and daughters; behold, when they come forth unto you, and ye see their way and their doings, then ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it;

23 and they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings, and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord GOD.' {P}

It's a grim chapter, 14, but it reminds me of what is actually happening in Nature, has happened, and always will I's a struggle and survival is tough...sword famine pestilence and evil beasts!

In Point Reyes non native Deer are being gunned down by a contractor....part of the Park Service effort to keep native fauna and flora to California around....these non native Deer if allowed to thrive will push out the native ones..lemesee if I can find that...

In its 2001 Management Policies, the National Park Service instructs parks such as Point Reyes National Seashore to “re-establish natural functions and processes in human-disturbed components of natural systems.” The Management Policies include non-native species as an example of a human-caused disturbance that can have severe impacts on natural biota and ecosystems.

This kinda jargon just drives one up the wall!...the story I read in the paper tell of residents finding dead deer with stomach wounds...of a stench over the landscape for days...such is "re-establish" and "severe impacts".

The struggle for survival in Nature has an "innocence" to it until people come along and start tinkering with it...there are 16 million deer hunters in the US...lemeget that...well, it was in the paper story...which was about hunters now have a variety to choose from...but that many hunters might be construed as a "severe impact on natural biota"!

Oh, the comeback here is hunter's are conservationists...and deer are thriving...well...some critters used to keep those populations in balance...and are they thriving!

At this point one should see the nature flic 'Counting Sheep'!

Once the environmental problems of today can be seen in these passages in Ezekiel the whole thing takes on a much larger import...I cant get it across very well...but feel the sense of it.

One more part I wanted to quote and consider...

24 But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? None of his righteous deeds that he hath done shall be remembered; for his trespass that he trespassed, and for his sin that he hath sinned, for them shall he die.

25 Yet ye say: The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel: Is it My way that is not equal? is it not your ways that are unequal?
כ2 When the righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall die therefor; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. {S}
27 Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive. 28 Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29 Yet saith the house of Israel: The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, is it My ways that are not equal? is it not your ways that are unequal?
30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Return ye, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so shall they not be a stumblingblock of iniquity unto you.
31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, wherein ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD; wherefore turn yourselves, and live.

That's chapter 18...and that bit sounds so much like something Jesus would say...lemego google jesus and ezekiel..

Well, that was an easy and good I found a whole sermon about just the thing I was trying to get at...

Ezekiel is a strange and disturbing book, from a strange and disturbing man, someone called to prophesy at the age of thirty, prone to ecstatic visions, inflammatory remarks and very weird behaviour. Rabbis of old wouldn’t introduce the book to their students until they too had reached thirty years of age, for fear they get the wrong end of the stick. (Notice, by the way, and I’ll come back to Luke later, that Luke is quick to tell us that Jesus was thirty when he began his ministry…)
Ezekiel, Jesus and the Spirit of God
Sermon preached at All Hallows by Annie Heppenstall-West on 25 September 2005

That bit about age thirty could explain a lot!

But what in the world end of the stick have I got! Ezekiel with a sense of how it can be speaking of Nature and how people are living with Nature.

God may seem merciless...and that question is addressed...God answering that there is a reason for it all...sorta like that favorite Allison Kraus song!

"I have not done without cause all that I have done..." -God

Oh, and the why I title this post evolutionary science in Ezekiel....well..I'm thinking Darwin read this too..lemgolook...

This site gives a history of Darwin's own journey of the spirit...

In the last year of his life, when the Duke of Argyll suggested to him that certain purposes seen in nature "were the effect and the expression of mind," Charles looked at him very hard and said, "Well, that often comes over me with overwhelming force; but at other times," and he shook his head vaguely, adding, "it seems to go away."

It would seem he read the Bible and thought over it much...pic is from William Blake.

The Eagle Atop the Cedar

I thought some more on Ezekiel today...but without the text I didn't try to fill it out...this is sorta like when I think up a poem...until I have a chance to be still for awhile with pencil and paper...or nowadays the computer...I dont let it get up and running...sorta speak... but that's all an aside...lemego get the bit about the Eagle on the Cedar...brb..

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
2 'Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel,
3 and say: Thus saith the Lord GOD: A great eagle with great wings and long pinions, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar;

It's the beginning of a riddle...which I have to reread...brb...

I have trouble following it...but it looks to be about Israel falling to the Babylonians and being taken captive...which all has the often curious thing of God putting into the head of other Kings and Nations to beset Israel with one misery or another!, the end of this chapter...seems to be a summation...

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD: Moreover I will take, even I, of the lofty top of the cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it upon a high mountain and eminent;
23 in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a stately cedar; and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing, in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.
24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I the LORD have spoken and have done it.' {P}

Now, above my door is the photo I took of the Tuolumne Hawk...a's on the top of a Lodgepole Pine...clouds in the distance...looking to the side...and the wind ruffling it's chest's an enlargement already has some personal lore from the day and efforts when I took it...and this bit from Ezekiel adds to that...the raptors hereabouts, Hawks and Owls, often perch right on top of the trees..I've seen them on Cedars...and the author of this bit must have seen them...and been taken with it!...and I thought too to find out what is happening with the Cedars of Lebanon...brb....

Well...they dont look like the Cedars here...more like Monterrey Pines...the ones here have the look of Xmas trees.
Alien Resurrection was was kinda mesmerizing!...afterwards I somehow landed on the weather channel and left it there throughout...oh..and it's late again!
And this goes with the pic...
The traveller earnestly desired to behold the cedars of Lebanon: for a great deal is said about them in the Bible; indeed, the temple of Solomon was built of those cedars. It was not easy to get close to them; for there were craggy rocks all around: but at last the traveller reached them, and stood beneath their shade. There were twelve very large old trees, and their boughs met at the top, and kept off the heat of the sun. These trees might be compared to holy men, grown old in the service of God: for this is God's promise to his servants,—"The righteous shall flourish like the palm-tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon."—Psalm xc. 11, 12.

Five Fold Bond

Well, I thought about the five fold bond...and am sorta stuck...

News on...then the end of Red a Xmas Choir...

The news had the story of the new energy bill before congress...or maybe they passed's going to shovel money to will grow corn and such that will be made into I was last night going on about the insecticides...and the taking from Nature of Open Range is in this...and the news mentioned something called the Dead Zone in the Gulf of Mexico...I'll get to the five fold bond...brb...

well...fertilizers seem to be the culprit...the Black Sea recovered when the Soviet Union collapsed and the economy couldn't support the use of fertilizers...

That what it will probably take for the Natural World to recover...economic collapse!

I dont know...but Cousteau warned of the oceans going belly up...and the Mediterranean would be first...lemego look...

Jacques Cousteau said that the Mediterranean Sea, once teaming with fish, had turned into an oceanic desert devoid of life. He showed films he had taken in the 50's of an area near France with giant schools of fish. Films of the same area, thirty years later, were barren of life. This effect was more pronounced in the shores of the Mediterranean near highly industrialized France, but it was a pattern that he saw develop not only in the Mediterranean Sea, but everywhere.

That's an interesting site!!... It's been kinda accidental...or serendipitous...or something...that in the Tree in the Door blog I keep finding Bible things that go along with Nature things...and this site is up and running with environmental concern in a Christian spirit....Christians can get behind things...sometimes not so good things!!...but with the enviornement..well...Nature can use the support!

It's got a gloom and doom tag on this date's newsletter post...

God says in the Bible

Revelation 16:3

The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died.

That day is rapidly approaching.

Heaven and Nature sing...they're singing.

That revelation quote is a very good description of a Red Tide...very pretty at night with green phosporescents...

But to the Five Fold Bond...

The Cross of the Crucification is both a literal thing...and a symbolic one...and the symbolic part has many interpretations...books and books.

But...chemically speaking it can represent a bond...that little site of bond shapes last night showed one with a cross shape...

And I've wondered if a lot of the old tales and myths have an underpinning of told in stories...and symbols...sorta the way the Chimera of the Mithras cult and the globe Hercules holds, represent the stars in some ways... Nearly everything the Egyptians painted on the walls had star lore associations...I haven't gone into them...but there is something of this in Islamic Art...and Old Celtic Designs...there's science in them...the ancients had ways to communicate science that we dont use anymore...or have forgotten..or dont understand.

And last night having brought up the five fold bond, I googled five fold bond, and found that in deed Chemists are tinkering with molecular five fold bonds!...but I found the five fold bond I was thinking was the way the ancients trussed up a prisoner...they tied together head, feet and hands...two feet, two hand, and one head...make five!...and it has a literal meaning...and many symbolic ones...much like the Cross...

Oh..and this has been a long route to get to this long quote I found...

"Once, monks, the devas & asuras were arrayed for battle. Then Vepacitti, the lord of the asuras, addressed the asuras: 'If, dear sirs, in the battle of the devas arrayed against the asuras, the asuras win and the devas are defeated, bind Sakka, the lord of the devas, neck, hand, & foot and bring him before me in the city of the asuras.'
"As for Sakka, lord of the devas, he addressed the devas of the Thirty-three: 'If dear sirs, in the battle of the devas arrayed against the asuras, the devas win and the asuras are defeated, bind Vepacitti, the lord of the asuras, neck, hand, & foot and bring him before me in the righteous assembly of the devas.'

This strange business is from Hindu or Buddhist lore...I've read through some of it...cant really understand any of it!!...but it has the look of something working on two a moralist religious level...and the other looks like something about bonding..and may be a molecular shape thing!...I dont know...but...and I'm not going to go find it...there is a post on the web that interprets the Egyption Book of the Dead...which isn't really it's name! a depiction of genetic science....oh..lemgo get the site!!...brb...

There's lots of them..but here's one...

A book was written about the Dogon Mystery: "The Science of the Dogon" which offers a case-by-case comparison of Dogon descriptions and drawings to corresponding scientific definitions and diagrams from authors like Stephen Hawking and Brian Greene, then extends this analysis to the counterparts of these symbols in both the ancient Egyptian and Hebrew religions. What is ultimately revealed is the scientific basis for the language of the Egyptian hieroglyphs, which was deliberately encoded to prevent the knowledge of these concepts from falling into the hands of all but the highest members of the Egyptian priesthood. The Science of the Dogon also offers compelling new interpretations for many of the most familiar Egyptian symbols, such as the pyramid and the scarab, and presents new explanations for the origins of religiously charged words such as Jehovah and Satan.

Oh...there is very pretty dancing on with piano...a little like Derivishes...

That sites interesting as it mentions the Dogon....Graves talks about them too...which made me notice...and Graves talks about the Five Fold Bond in the tales of Hercules...Hercules gets trussed up in such a manner!..which I puzzled over a long time ago!

So, what to be construed from all this...well..."there's more in heaven and earth" than my blogging can unravel!!

But there's unraveling to be done...

Brand says red tide is getting worse in Southwest Florida because industry and development are dumping nitrogen, the principal ingredient of fertilizer, onto the land and flushing it into Florida's rivers and streams, which eventually carry it out to the Gulf.

Red tide scientist's lonely stance is attracting some supporters

This Xmas show is on PBS and it's really good!

Oh, now two dancers from India?...for awhile connected with a rope/sash around both their waists...what a neat show!!

Reconciliation restore (an excommunicate an excommunicate) to communion with the church

"when a real archaeological artifact is found the pubic cant tell if it is real or not"

National Geographic is on...back to back stories of rare archaeological finds in the Holy Land...and how many are fakes...

I was thinking about "reconciled"...from the Xmas song with the lyric..."God and sinner reconciled" I looked it up...and it's in the neighborhood of the word "restore"

well... that's what these Ntl. Geo. stories are about!!...but what I was thinking of is the restorations that go on hereabouts...and thought the song lyric might go...
"Nature and people reconciled"

Oh, now there after a lost Turkey...

I dont know if the other Faiths do it...but Christianity owns up to everyone being sinners...and there's some famous reconciliations in the Story...the thief on the cross comes to mind...

Atocha...I think this is where the big heads are...

A reconciliation with Nature is needed...and an owning up that everyone is contributing to the schism between people and Nature.

I dont know how it can be done!!..the simplest things we do are doing harm...I dont dwell on it...but every plastic wrap and package...every exahust...

Well...I looked up 108 and molecular bond angle last see if the web could answer the question I posed myself...

I dont know much about science and chemistry...but I gather each molecule has certain bond angles...what I think of is water...H2O is depicted as a ball with two little balls like ears...the angle of the ears is the bond angle...and it's the angle that shows up in snowflakes...looking at a snow flake one can look right into the smallest level of things...minerals are like this two...and I think there is a set of mineral shapes determined by the bond angels..lemego look...

This show is kinda neat!!

Well...what I read once was that some Eastern European weavers made clothes and such with patterns and the patterns corresponded to the basic minerals...the patterns they would make I guess if shown in two dimensions...lemee try again...nope...cant find was a side by side..there was a certain number of mineral designs...and the same number showed up in the number of this Eastern Eurpopean textile designs that I cant remember!!

But on looking up 108 and bond angle I found "organophosphates" and was reading scientific texts which I cant follow except for ghists...but ghists are often all I have to go on!...and one thing I picked out is that these organophosphates are the stuff of insecticides...

Now...something is failing in the bird populations...and along with seeds and things they eat insects...fewer insects fewer birds...and all those other little frogs!...that eat bugs...lemego see what being said about fewer birds...traces of insecticide are showing up in all our's supposed to biogdegrade...and it does...but it's still in the urine...brb... they're at the Battle of Kadesh..and the false claim of Pharaoh...these Hittites from Turkey won....

A quarter of all bird species in the United States have declined in population since the 1970s, according to a report issued by the National Audubon Society.

That's from a National Geographic site...2002. search declining bird populations

leme add insecticide..brb...

Bird populations in many regions of the U.K. have declined dramatically in the last 25 years, according to a report by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB). The report links pesticide use with declining populations in a number of bird species. It says that elimination of food sources -- not direct poisoning -- is the main threat to birds from pesticides. Other reasons for the decline may be related to changes in agricultural practices, such as making silage instead of hay, thereby removing food and cover for bird and insect populations earlier in the season. Winter cropping, in which farmers use pre-emergent herbicides to "clean" fields, may also be a factor by reducing over- wintering habitat for birds.

All that in 1997

Article mention frogs too!

lemego back and get the organophosphate thing...

About 70% of the insecticides in current use in the United States are organophosphorous (OP) pesticides, a total of around 90 million pounds per year. The OP pesticides work by interfering with the nervous system of insects, a mechanism that also affects the human nervous system when people are exposed. Other health effects of individual OP pesticides vary; some are highly acutely toxic, some cause development or reproductive harm, and some are known or suspected endocrine disruptors.

I likely got a dose of these when living surround by plant nurseries!

Precautions are being taken with these with regard to people...but one wonders here of "collateral damage" to species that have nothing to do with the bees...lemgo see...organophosphates beees...brb...

An estimated one-third of the human diet is derived directly or indirectly from insect pollinated plants. Honey bees are the world's most important insect pollinator of fruit and vegetable crops, home gardens and wildflowers. The number of bee colonies and beekeepers is steadily declining due to the inadvertent introduction of the parasitic mite Varroa destructor into the U.S. in 1987. Left untreated, varroa mites kill most bee colonies within one to two years.
To control the mite, beekeepers have been using pesticides (pyrethroids and organophosphates) in their bee colonies. However, that approach has generated problems, including the mites developing resistance, the enormous operating expense of purchasing and spraying pesticides in honey bee colonies and risks of contaminating honey and beeswax with residue.

They're trying to figure out why the Atocha Empire fell...civil war...a great fire...

well...leme go back to yesterday...and 108 bond angle organophophates and some of the side by sides....

The combination of phosphorus and fluorine has resulted in a variety of compounds that are unique in their physical and chemical properties as well as being some of the most toxic materials produced by man. A review of the chemistry and enzymatic basis for the toxicology of these compounds is presented. Catalytic enzymes that use these compounds as substrates and their potential applications are also reviewed.

end quote

I wont link that one!...the curious can find it...but there are many more...

Indeed, the bond angle 108 is of the five fold bond...and the tinkering with it has brought an impasse...

In discussion it was asked why the bioweapons were made?...the only thing I could think of was. "They made them because they could."

Now the Knights Templar story is's likley this is back to back with the Hittite story by design!!...though I dont know...

Here's a link found searching "molecular shapes" and it shows an example of the 'bent' one...which is water..H20, whose angle is 105 degrees...this is a neat site...

And lastly tonight...a long post...something to add to cheerfulness...and the snow that fell all day...

If matter expands when heated, and contracts when cooled, why does ice expand when water freezes? Please explain in layman terms.

The basic idea is that water molecules are V shaped with about 105 degrees separating the two arms of the V. There's an oxygen at the bottom of the V and one hydrogen at the end of each arm of the V. When water freezes, it goes from a mixed up liquid state where all these V's are just sliding around each other, to an ordered crystalline solid state where all the V's have to connect with each other in nice orderly solid shapes. The closest and easiest solid crystal shape for something that exists as a 105 degree V is a hexagonal (really tetrahedral in 3D) crystal. Think of it as a flat hexagonal snowflake shape, but it really goes in three dimensions. To get this shape, the water molecule V angle has to open up a bit to about 108 degrees. (109.47 degrees would be the ideal angle, but it doesn't make it quite this far in real life.) The water molecules want to do this because to them it "feels" nicer--that is: they feel less strain and they can get into a lower energy state by getting into this nice orderly hexagonal crystal. Think of it as though it's more "relaxing" to the water molecules to open up the V angle a bit as they turn from water to solid ice. Anyway, because of this "opening up", the distance between molecules is a bit bigger. In fact, taking into consideration some other things about bond distances, the openness of ice is about 9% bigger than liquid water. In other words: in the same given volume of ice there are less water molecules than in liquid water, because each one is just a bit bigger in ice than when it is liquid. So that is why ice is lighter than liquid water.
By the way, of nearly 15 million substances we know about, water is one of a very few that expand when freezing. Because of this and a number of other phenomena mostly based on this V angle thing and in particular on something called "Hydrogen Bonding", water is probably the most amazing substance in the universe. I'm not exagerating. Other websites have some excellent pictures and explanations of water shape and behaviour.

Apologies to webmasters for grabbing off so much...but sometimes it's needed to make a discussion!!

As we continue to shrink, the molecules become larger, and take on a peculiar Mickey Mouse shape. "These fuzzy spheres must be the atoms that make up the molecule — two hydrogen atoms bonded to a single oxygen atom. And I see that it's the orbiting electrons that give the atom its fuzzy appearance. And still I continue to shrink."

The Frog in the Water

I was thinking about this maybe a week ago...after reading Opus....the comic did a bit where the kid goes off on how something needs to be done...comparing everyone to the Frog Anecdote....a frog put in hot water will hop out...a frog in cold water that is heated'll broil!!....maybe I can find that one...but I just heard the anecdote...the movie Dante's Peak is on..Bosman explains it, then is trying to get everyone to hop out of town....WE SHOULD BE JUMPING!! opus 12/2/o7

I find blogs I was so cheerful it was painful...had a neat Dickens quote...lemesee if I can it...brb

I feel an earnest and humble desire, and shall till I die, to increase the stock of harmless cheerfulness. - Charles Dickens

And last night I found a site using the same template like mine here in Blogger...and the fellow has pics and words of his walkabouts in WI...mostly bird pics...and..with some envy...I see he uses a root a tooth or digicscope!....

Oh...they're in the sinking boat...this is the worst....grandma didn't hop out soon enough...

When I was doing the Panay weblog I came across an Old China story of 1o8 thieves...and too that a baseball has 108 stitches...lemego get that!...brb...

hmm...I'd forgotten this..just remembered the thieves and baseball..."sometime" I'll have to do the "calendar" post...

Well, the only thing I can figure is the pentagon, the angle of the legs of a five pointed star is 108. Five fold symmetry is the symmetry of life. What molecule or element has a pentagonal symmetry?

end quote

Let me check that angle!

oh, and this...I've had the "stitches" notion awhile...

Bond angles are nature's rules, the way she stitches things together

end quote

It is 108...I scare myself sometimes!!..I could add this to wiki!! that's what got me thinking about 108 again...going through the numbers last night I was impressed with wikipedia entries...and there's a lot of websites too...numerology has a lot of neat things...and awful stuff too!...but I googled 108 and looked at wikipedies entry..and it has a lot of "side by sides"...different examples of 108...and this one caught my eye!...

well, no, they have mine!!

In normal space, the interior angles of an equilateral pentagon measure 108 degrees each.

but here's the one I liked...

Hindu Kshatriya Dhangars have 108 clans. The lineage of these clans is from solar and lunar dynasties. It should be noted that the diameter of the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Earth. The distance from the Sun to the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. The average distance of the Moon from the Earth is 108 times the diameter of the Moon.

Well enough with the has them covered...but if there is a universal all encompassing language...and's mathematics.

One would hope, in the end, to weigh just a little bit...say the Feather of Matt!

But that famous writing on the wall has a kinda overtone of mathematics...pronouncing their prominence... has a little poem with it's bit...

The Run Upon The Bankers

by Jonathan Swift:
A baited banker thus desponds,

From his own hand foresees his fall,

They have his soul, who have his bonds;

'Tis like the writing on the wall.

That's grim...stock prices are falling!

But I had this notion that it went...number number all is number...and I'm not sure where I got that! I might have made it up...but I saw in it this notion of the underpinings of everything being the computers with their Os and 1s and programs...

I'll explore this some more...sometime!

Kukulcan Pyramid

National Geographic was on with the story of Exodus...trying to find scientific explanations for the plagues...the whole point of the story is obedience to God...and I wonder if by finding "logical" explanations...volcano lava rock as the burning bush!...that obedience is undermined...or at least the import of the there is one on about the first Americans...I think I've seen this they're doing bit on the fabric found in a burial site...

Ah, but the Pyramid of Kukulcan...I thought about that today and wondered if it had seven levels...lemgolook!..brb...

It's called El Castillo...the castle...and has nine levels...I was hoping for seven...but it also has 365 steps...and with it's orientations another example, like the Egyptian pyramids, of a monument that is like a giant clock or sun dial.

Here's an odd thing, which I've never really seen layed out anywhere...all the beginning numbers, except a couple...divide into 360 evenly...the Mayans had different of 360 days...and the five left over were a kinda special set...

a little math!

one goes into 360, 360 times

2 goes into 360, 180 times

3 goes into 360, 120 times

4 goes into 360, 90 times

5 goes into 360, 72 times

6 goes into 360, 60 times

7 goes into 360, 51 rounded off...but into 365, 52 rounded off

8 goes into 360, 45 times

9 goes into 36o, 40 times

10 goes into 360, 36 times

11 goes into 360, 32.7272

12 goes into 360 30 times

13 goes into 360 27.8 rounded off

Seven is the number of days in a week, and there are 52 weeks...

And let me go get the length of a Lunar month...the sidereal...

(27 days, 7 hours, 43 minutes, 11.6 seconds).

Snowflakes (and the Star of David) branch at sixty degrees

And of course there are 12 months of approximately 30 days...

I think about this sometimes and try to figure it out!!

Job 28:20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Dont think that fits in with the other thoughts!...but I was mulling over that "fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom" was painted on the gym wall one place I refereed basketball.

I'm a pudding stone of things!!

At break I was reading the pile of old newspapers, and on top was the real estate section...and an infostory... I guess it could be called...about time share homes in Tahoe...this one on the edge of a signature golf course..."where few can live...and experience year round the endless variety of activities..."...

I think my posts might be becoming sermons!!

How's it go...the more I'm hereabouts, the more I learn of the Natural World...and "knowledge increaseth sorrow"...

I was in one of the Tiki Temple Donation Centers...surrounded by the porcelain and the tile...and time all this was trees...the forest with it's inhabitants...the Tiki Temple's underground passageways have been odoriferous of late!! work being it's on my thoughts on the walkabouts...

And nothing is more preoccupied with rarities than the sport of golf...birdies eagles holes in it dont surprise people seeking rarefied atmosphere choose to reside beside golf courses...Top 100 Golf Course Communities in America...the stories went...the whole section this Saturday was about such places...

Actually...I cant think of a more rarefied place than Tree in the Door...itself a partially converted Tiki Temple Donation Center...the donations in the working part are hearable through the wall!!...but it's got any location location location beat all to hell!

And there's a lesson in that...a time share may be in a rarefied place with year round endless activities...but it's not likely the owner of such dwellings will dwell there long...however... the maintainers of such dwellings often can stay a very long time!!...albeit in humbler circumstances.

Where was's a rarefied...not quite a place...more an entry to a place..

"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God" (Mark 10:25).

Signature golf couses..hummp...Tigers ahead by eight or something.

Laura Croft Tomb Raider is on...which has as it's plot work a rare moment in time.

lemeget the knowledge quote...

For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.

Hereabouts Tiki Temple Offering facilities range from absolutely nothing at all to the sorta new palace just up the Creek. Graffiti seems to find it's way into all of them...

There on the dogsleds going into the ice cavern.

Along the coast ninety percent of the coast redwoods are gone...and I'm trying to recollect...oh, it was in a timeline of ecological events from way back to now and there was a rebellion over a Prince cutting down trees for his palaces in India a long time ago...lemseeificanfindthat!!...brb...

1720 — In India, hundreds of Bishnois Hindus of Khejadali go to their deaths trying to protect trees from the Maharaja of Jodhpur, who needed wood to fuel the lime kilns for cement to build his palace. This event has been considered as the origins of the 20th century Chipko movement.

Lime kilns I think are said to have done in the Mayas...brb...

Speaking to a group of 500 specialists in ancient Maya civilization gathered here from around the world this weekend, Dr. Richard D. Hansen, a research archeologist at the University of California at Los Angeles, said that in their zeal to create magnificent architecture the Maya leveled forests to fuel the fires with which they converted limestone into lime stucco.

NY Times

hmm...that's an unexpected side by side!!

Now they're climbing the pyramid...and Laura is first...and is talking to her father...pretty soon she'll be sledding on her boots behind the scene!

"God, He take care of the poor."

"Oh, yeah, He take care of all of us."

the Jamaicans

A bit from National Geographic...

The elusive quetzal, also known as the kuk, deserved homage. The bird inhabits the cloud forests of Central America, and its feathers, along with jade, were among the most precious commodities in Mesoamerica. To the Maya and Aztecs, the quetzal's emerald green iridescent tail feathers were more valuable than gold.
At Kukulcan, Lubman made recordings of the echo and compared them with recordings of the quetzal from Cornell University's ornithology lab, in Ithaca, N.Y.
"They matched perfectly. I was stunned," Lubman says. "The Temple of Kukulcan chirps like a kuk."
Lubman envisions Mayan priests facing a crowd at Kukulcan and clapping. The pyramid would then "answer" in the voice of the quetzal, a messenger of the Gods.

well...gods have gotten an upgrade to Gods in those august pages!!
the rare bird, "more valuable than gold", pic is from wikipedia...

Well, I thought about the word, askance, as I was thinking about miss trust...which of late seems to permeate everything big and small....Letterman is old old rerun...all the talk shows are reruns because of the writers' strike...and I think it's a plot to muzzle their satiric wit in the political season!...that's askance!

Gladiator was on...then the Costner Cuban Missile Crisis...MSN had an essay about apocalyptic movies...there's been a few!...and this likely because of release of I Am Legend..

That's as far as I got with my thinking today!!...thoughts were taken up with a "rare" Bobcat sighting!
